Police Hunting Gunman Who Killed A Man In Brisbane

A police hunt is underway after a 56-year-old man was shot dead at a home in the Brisbane suburb of MacGregor.

Emergency services found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest at a house in MacGregor about 11.40pm on Monday.

It is understood the shooter arrived at the home, shot the 56-year-old man and fled the scene before officers arrived.

The victim was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition where he died.

The shooter remains at large and it's believed the pair didn't know each other.

A police spokesman said other family members were at the home at the time of the shooting.

A detective will brief the media later on Tuesday.
