Child Charged After Allegedly Rolling Stolen Mini-Van, Leaving Two Critical

Police have charged a 12-year-old boy who allegedly rolled a stolen mini-van in north Queensland, leaving two other young boys critical. 

Six children were inside the van when it crashed on Ross River Road in Kirwan, Townsville, about 7am on Wednesday.

Police allege the 12-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll.

All six children were treated at the scene, including two boys aged 10 who suffered serious head injuries. They both remain in critical condition.

The other four children received minor injuries.

The juvenile driver of the mini-van is facing multiple charges including dangerous and unlicensed driving as well as receiving tainted property.
