V8 Supercar And $140,000 Cash Seized In Drug Raids
Seven people will face court on Tuesday following a 'large scale' investigation into a drug supply ring.
NSW Police have been investigating the commercial supply of cannabis in the Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Dubbo areas in NSW.
The eight-month investigation culminated in police executing five search warrants in Dubbo and Cessnock on Monday.
More than 80 police officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District, Hunter Valley Police District, Western Region Enforcement Squad, the Dog Unit, as well as Australian Border Force and the NSW Crime Commission, took part in the raids.
Police seized $140,000 in cash and a large amount of cannabis with a street value of almost $900,000. A number of vehicles were also seized during the raids.
These included a Falcon V8 Supercar, a GTS HT Monaro, three other cars, seven motorbikes, a tractor and a quad bike.
Police allege the vehicles are proceeds of crime.
Eight people were arrested during the drug raids and seven were charged with multiple offences. Six men aged between 29 and 56 and one woman aged 38 were charged and will appear in Dubbo, Maitland, Mudgee and Cessnock Local Courts.
The eighth person, a 45-year-old man, has been released from custody.
