'Horrific' Canberra Death In Night Of Violence In Nation's Capital
One man is dead and another has a gunshot wound after two violent incidents in Canberra overnight.
A 56-year-old man was found with critical injuries at a home in Gungahlin, in the city's north, early on Monday.
Police responded to the scene around 2am, after receiving reports of an altercation at the location. The man died soon after, with another 30-year-old man questioned by police over the suspicious circumstances.
"He suffered significant blood loss," said Detective Superintendent Scott Moller.
"It's a horrific attack. A male has died during this incident, so it's something that ACT Policing take very seriously and put all of our resources into."
Police have not found a weapon, but were seen scouring drains and searching the area on Monday.
In a separate incident, police say bikies may have had a hand in a shooting in Canberra's south.
Three people were inside a Richardson home when a group of people are believed to have started shooting at it soon after midnight.
One person was shot in the arm and taken to hospital, with police finding five spent casings at the home.
