Woman Charged After Throwing Television At Police Officers

A woman has been tasered after she allegedly threw a television at two police officers while resisting arrest at an inner Sydney home.

Police said the 29-year-old verbally abused a male and female officer and spat in the male officer's face when they visited the Woolloomooloo home for a stolen property matter late on Friday.

When police tried to arrest her she allegedly closed the door on the female officer, injuring her forehead.

The woman then allegedly threw a television at the pair before running at the male officer, who stunned her with a taser.

She continued to resist arrest while being taken to Kings Cross Police Station, where she was charged with assaulting an officer in the execution of duty and resisting a police officer in the execution of duty.

The woman is due to appear in the Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
