Hunt For 'Bad Santa' After Brazen Car Theft

Police are hunting for a man dubbed 'Bad Santa' after a car was stolen from an apartment carpark in inner-city Sydney last month. 

In CCTV released on Wednesday, the man, aged in his 30s, can be seen walking into a carpark dressed in a Santa suit complete with a hat and beard.

Police released images of the Mercedes sedan that was stolen from a complex in Zetland on December 8.

A 32-year-old woman parked the green 2009 C63 model, with NSW number plates CLB29V, underground on Defries Avenue at about 6pm.

When she returned the next day, it was gone.

Officers launched an investigation and now want to speak with 'Bad Santa'.

“Stealing is unacceptable, and our investigators will continue to pursue all leads to crack this case,” Superintendent Andrew Holland said.

“As part of our investigation, we are calling on the community and, in particular, the man in the vision to come forward and assist us with our inquiries into this brazen motor vehicle theft.”

Hunt For 'Bad Santa' Over Brazen Car Theft

The man is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance with a medium build.
