Cleaner Charged With Attempted Murder Of Elderly Woman
A 35-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after she allegedly stabbed a 92-year-old woman in her own home.
Police allege the 35-year-old is the cleaner at the older woman's home in Ashbury.
Police were called to the home at about 10.45 am on Wednesday after a panic button was activated at the address.
Police entered the home and found the elderly woman at the back of the house bleeding heavily from her scalp and abdomen.
She was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious condition and had surgery to her face and body.
The 35-year-old was arrested in relation to the alleged stabbing just after midday on Wednesday and was charged with attempted murder and wounding person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The woman is currently being treated in hospital for an ankle injury but is expected face Parramatta Bail Court on Thursday.
