Man Charged Over Stabbing Death Of Homeless Man In Sydney

A man who allegedly stabbed a 60-year-old to death outside a fast food restaurant in Sydney's east has been charged with murder.

The 30-year-old man was charged on Thursday, according to police, who say he was also stabbed in the altercation which occurred on Saturday in Bondi Junction.

The accused, who is under police guard at St Vincent's Hospital, will appear at Parramatta Local Court via a bedside hearing on Friday.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Oxford Street near Vermon Street, just after 8pm, following reports a man had been stabbed several times.

The 60-year-old man could not be saved.

Police allege the two men were known to each other.
