Second Man Charged Over NSW Murder
A second person has been charged with the murder of a 60-year-old man during a violent home invasion near Newcastle.
Police on Christmas Day charged a 23-year-old man with the murder that occurred in Lake Macquarie during the early hours of December 17.
A 19-year-old was arrested and charged over the murder last week. He faced court on Thursday, where he did not apply for bail.
Police are still hunting for a third person, aged 24, they believe was involved in the brutal killing.
The trio allegedly broke into the Whitebridge home armed with baseball bats and knives and attacked the victim in his bedroom, while his two brothers were in the home.
The victim was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he died a short time later.
The 23-year-old man was refused bail and is expected to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Boxing Day.
