Man Charged After Allegedly Biting Big Chunk Of A Man's Ear Off

The 24-year-old allegedly attacked and bit his victim at a bus stop in Sydney's CBD.

The alleged attack happened at around 11pm on Wednesday night on Clarence Street, according to NSW Police.

Police said the man attacked the victim from behind while he was waiting for a bus and bit off a 'significant portion' of his ear.

Police said after the fight he stole the victim's wallet before fleeing the scene.

They have confirmed the victim and the alleged assailant were known to each other.

The victim was taken to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment.

The alleged attacker was arrested at around two o'clock on Thursday morning in Frenchs Forest on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

He was taken to Manly Police Station before being charged with grievous bodily harm with intent as well larceny .

He has been refused bail and is expected to appear at Manly Local Court on Thursday.
