Manhunt Underway After Sex Attack On Sydney Woman
The hunt continues to find a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an oval in Sydney's southwest.
A 48-year-old woman was walking along Maxwells Avenue at Ashcroft, near the entrance to Blamfield Oval, between 2am and 3am on Saturday when she noticed a cream-coloured, four-door ute stopped nearby, police say.
The man in the driver's seat, speaking with a New Zealand accent, asked the woman for a cigarette lighter and they had a short conversation before he drove away.
As the woman walked through the oval, she was approached from behind by the man and sexually assaulted.
The man fled and the woman attended a hospital a short time later.
He has been described as tall, with olive skin, clean shaven, brown eyes, dark hair and wearing a black and grey striped shirt.
Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
