CCTV: Graphic Video Released Shows Man And Woman Held At Gunpoint
Terrifying CCTV has been released of a man striking an elderly man with a gun and pointing it at another elderly woman during a violent armed robbery.
The footage comes as Victoria Police offer a $350,000 reward to help catch the man responsible for the assault in Melbourne's west last year.
Three women and a man were chatting in a car park following an event at a licensed premises on Talmage Street in Sunshine about 1am on December 19.
Victoria Police said an armed man approached the group from behind a dumpster, pointing a gun at them and demanding they open the building.
CCTV shows the gunman striking the male victim, aged in his 70s, in the chest, arm and head before pointing it at one of the women, also in her 70s.
Police said the man suffered serious head and arm injuries, while the three women were unharmed.
The armed man then fled the scene after he dropped the male victim's keys, triggering his car alarm.
Victoria Police said up to $350,000 will be rewarded for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man responsible.
"In appropriate cases, the DPP may consider, according to established guidelines, the granting of identification from prosecution to any person who provides information as to the identity of the principal offender or offenders in this matter," a statement read.
Any payment will be subject to a deed of confidentiality prior to it being made.
The offender is described as being 182cm tall with a thin build, light coloured eyes and Caucasian in appearance. At the time, he was wearing dark loose-fitting pants, a dark jumper, runners and a dark coloured balaclava over his face.
