British Ski Instructor Charged With Alleged Assault Of Couple In Jindabyne

A man has been charged with the alleged assault of a couple in the NSW Snowy Mountains.

A 22-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were enjoying an evening out when they were attacked by a man on Kosciuszko Road in Jindabyne on early Thursday morning.

The British national allegedly punched the man in the head and then allegedly physically and sexually assaulted the woman. When the man regained consciousness, he was allegedly knocked to the ground for a second time.

The pair managed to flag down a passing car and their attacker fled the scene. The man and the woman were treated for serious facial injuries and were transported to hospital for further treatment.

After days of investigation, Police arrested the 28-year-old British national outside a unit in Jindabyne at 9pm on Tuesday night. He was later charged with aggravated sexual assault, causing grievous bodily harm to person with intent, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possessing a prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail and will front Queanbeyan Local Court on Wednesday.
