Queensland police have launched an investigation after 1500 marijuana plants were found at a house in Brisbane's southwest.

A large "grow house" containing 1500 marijuana plants is under police guard after the haul was uncovered in Brisbane's southwest.

Police found the plants, all in varying stages of growth, in an industrial area around Redbank on Tuesday.

The site contained a large industrial shed and a "grow house", police said.

A crime scene has been established and the site will remain under guard until Wednesday morning as investigations continue.
