Young Mum-To-Be And Unborn Child Killed In Horror Crash
A young woman who was 32 weeks pregnant has died following a horror car crash in northern NSW.
Emergency services were called to the town of Inverell on Sunday night after reports a Holden Commodore had collided with a Mazda Bravo and crashed into a pole.
Paramedics treated the Holden driver and passenger -- two women aged 23 and 20 -- for serious injuries at the scene on Warialda Rd.
Police said the 20-year-old passenger was 32 weeks pregnant.
The woman was taken to Inverell Airport to be airlifted to hospital, but tragically she and the baby died.
The female driver was airlifted to Tamworth Hospital in a stable condition.
The Mazda driver, a 19-year-old man, and his female passenger suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Inverell Hospital for mandatory testing.
Investigations into the crash are continuing. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
