Teenager Charged Over Death Of Baby Girl

A Brisbane teenager has been charged over the murder of an 11-month-old baby.

Queensland Police told 10 daily the baby was found unresponsive at a home at Corinda, southwest of the CBD, on February 1.

They said the baby was revived by paramedics at the home but later died at Queensland Children's Hospital, four days later.

Police said an 18-year-old man, who is believed to have been involved in the incident, was known to the child.

"Inala CPIU and State Crime Command’s Child Trauma Unit conducted a joint homicide investigation over the past three weeks, which included establishing a crime scene in Corinda over the last week," a Queensland Police spokesperson said.

The Inala man was expected to appear in court on Monday but was later remanded in custody.

10 News First understands the case has been adjourned until March 23.
