Missing Baby Girl 'Taken By Her Transient Father' Has Been Found

A one-year-old Queensland girl taken by her father has been located safe and well in South Brisbane.

The infant was reported missing from Southport at 4 pm on Thursday and police said they were "particularly worried" for the child's safety.

Queensland Police said the one-year-old girl was found safe and well in Greenslopes about 11 am Friday morning.

Police earlier told reporters she had been taken by her father, Jacob Longabardi, who "couch-surfs and has a history of homelessness".

Superintendent Brendan Smith said the pair left on foot without access to money or a mobile phone.

Longabardi, 45, is assisting police with their inquiries.

Police understand there was a domestic violence situation before Longabardi grabbed the child and left.

The man lives at the Queen Street address with his wife, who is the mother of the child.
