Bushfire Relief Toys Are Here And They'll Tug At Your Heartstrings

A toy firefighter holding a koala is being made to help out injured and displaced animals affected by Australia's bushfires.

Toy manufacturer Funko and PopCultcha are behind the new figurine -- the 'Bushfire Hero Firefighter'.

Funko has pledged to donate all profits to the RSPCA National Bushfire Appeal.

When NSW RFS boss Shane Fitzsimmons finds himself in the darkest of moments, it's his family that keeps him grounded.

According to the toy's description, the firefighter holding the koala is intended to represent all of the emergency service workers and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to help rescue injured and displaced animals that have suffered as a result of the devastating bushfires.

The new figurine costs $19.99 and all profits will go to the RSPCA. Image: Popcultcha

"The RSPCA are working alongside government and emergency agencies, veterinarians and local authorities to provide much-needed equipment and supplies, emergency care and identifying and assessing injured animals in need of assistance," the company wrote.

Three koalas rescued from a bushfire-hit region of southern NSW have been named after the American airmen who were killed in a nearby firefighting plane crash.

"Their work will continue for months after the fires have ceased."

The limited-edition item will be available in June 2020 at a cost of $19.99.
