Little Girl Injured After Hand Trapped In Meat Grinder
A seven-year-old girl has suffered serious injuries after her hand became trapped in a meat grinder at a bakery in Sydney's southwest.
Emergency services were called to Zaitoune Lebanese Bakery in Camden shortly after 1pm on Thursday.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Karen Nichols said the young girl's hand had been released from the meat grinder when paramedics arrived but she was in "excruciating pain".
"There is nothing worse than witnessing a child in distress," she said.
"We were there in minutes and managed to keep her relatively calm while we treated her.”
The girl was taken to Westmead Children's Hospital in a serious condition.
“She is one brave little girl and our thoughts are with her and her family as she recovers in hospital," Nichols said.
