Man And Child Dead, Woman Seriously Injured After Camping Accident
A man and a child have died and a woman left seriously injured following a suspected camping accident in Western Australia.
Police suspect there was a fault with the camping equipment inside their tent where they had been sleeping.
Police were called to the scene just before 11 am on Monday after receiving a report a child was not breathing. A rescue helicopter was dispatched.
The man and child were found dead at the scene and a woman was "in need of urgent medical assistance", according to a WA Police statement.
The woman was flown to a hospital in Perth.
A WA Police spokesperson confirmed to 10 daily that the victims were part of the same family but they are not able to confirm the relationship or their ages until next of kin have been notified.
The incident occurred on a beach about 150 km northwest of Perth and about 8km south of the Wedge Island access road entrance.
The deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
