Residents Warned: Dangerous Dog At Large Is Threat To Public
A Hobart council has warned residents that a dangerous dog remains at large and is a threat to the general public and their pets.
Known as "Peppa", the light brown Staffordshire cross is a risk when not properly managed, Glenorchy council says.
Originally the dog was impounded after being found wandering the streets of Lutana, in Hobart's north, without a muzzle or dangerous dog collar.
However, she was stolen overnight from the pound and remains at large.
Glenorchy City Council Mayor Kristie Johnston told The Mercury: “Council or police are eager to hear from anyone who may know where this dog is currently being held, or know who may have taken it from the pound."
The council is urging members of the community not approach the dog and to contact council on 6216 6800 if sighted.
"It was captured in Ash Street, Lutana, but it is unlikely to still be in that area, currently, council is unaware of its location," the Glenorchy Council said on Facebook.
Tasmanian Police are also eager to hear from anyone who may know where this dog is currently being held or know who may have taken it from the pound.
