WATCH: Woolworths Roof Collapses As Wild Weather Hits Melbourne

Shoppers had a dampened experience at a Melbourne Woolworths on Sunday after parts of the ceiling collapsed due to heavy rain.

Wild weather hit Victoria on Sunday afternoon with hazardous winds and golf-ball-sized hail wreaking havoc across Melbourne.

Shoppers at the Templestowe Woolies initially seemed unfazed by the collapsing ceiling, a video posted to twitter shows. Some shoppers were seen continuing to browse the store.

When the water started to dump into the aisles, some customers quickened their pace to avoid the debris dangling from the roof.

The shopping centre was evacuated to ensure customer safety.

The store reopened on Monday.

Warnings of adverse weather and flash-flooding were issued by the Bureau of Meteorology on the weekend, the storms resulted in damaging winds and roads being blocked-off due to flooding.

Hailstones as large as golf balls dented vehicles and smashed through windscreens.

Yards in some parts of the city were seen littered with hailstones.

The state's premier Daniel Andrews last week warned residents to prepare for flash-flooding and heavy rain, resulting in landslides and furthered dangerous conditions for the bushfire ravaged East Gippsland area.

Conditions are set to ease throughout the week, however, storms are forecast for later on Monday, with continuing showers.
