Man Dies From Injuries Sustained In November Bushfire

A man has died from injuries sustained during the bushfires in the NSW Northern Tablelands region in November.

The man, 59, suffered serious burns on November 7, after taking shelter in a water tank as fires impacted properties in Yarrowitch, about 70 kilometres south-east of Walcha.

Police said he was found later the same day by a National Parks and Wildlife Service employee and airlifted to Port Macquarie Hospital.

He was later transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment.

Authorities have since been advised the man died on December 29, almost two months after he was injured.

It brings the total death toll in NSW from the fires to 17.
