Both of the victims were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital, where one of them -- confirmed by friends to 10 News First as Jack Beasley -- died from his injuries.

Police on Saturday night announced they had charged a 15-year-old boy from Waterford with murder and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

The 15-year-old boy is due to appear in Beenleigh Childrens Court on Monday.

Meanwhile, flowers were left on the thoroughfare where Beasley was allegedly fatally stabbed, with the words "Rest easy mate" written on the packaging.
