Kittens Found Abandoned On Roadside In Taped-Up Box

Three kittens have been rescued from a taped-up box left on the side of the road in the NSW Hunter Region.

A member of the public came across the carton of cats in Gresford at the weekend.

Thankfully, the kittens were still alive.

RSPCA inspectors were called in and the animals were taken to the Hunter Veterinary Hospital for a check-up and are said to be doing very well.

An image of the find was posted to Facebook alongside a plea for anyone in a similar situation to contact them.

"As distressing as this is, sadly it isn’t the first time we have received a report of kittens left on the side of the road," the post read.

"If you ever find yourself in a situation where you have animals you are unable to care for, please call us on 1300 278 3589".

It's not known who dumped the kittens.
