NSW Schools Closed Again As Bushfire Threat Continues

There will be 26 public schools closed on Monday, November 18, across NSW as the bushfire threat continues.

The NSW Department of Education has advised parents and guardians schools in the bushfire affected areas will remain closed on Monday.

NSW Fire Devastation 'Worse Than Expected'

Devastation caused by bushfires on the mid north coast of NSW is "beyond" what was expected, the emergency services minister says, as the Rural Fire Service warns conditions are set to get worse.

"The NSW RFS is consulted before a decision is made about each school’s status, however parents may choose not to send their children to school if they have other supervision arrangements in place," it said.

As of Sunday evening, all independent and Catholic schools in NSW are expected to be operational on Monday, however the Department advises parents and guardians to regularly check for updates.
