Boy On Scooter Hit By Car Towing Caravan In NSW

A young Sydney boy is fighting for life after he was struck by a car that was towing a caravan, in a grim start to the school holidays.

The 11-year-old boy was riding a scooter on Harrow Street, Marayong in the city's west when he was hit just before 2pm.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and the child was transported to Westmead Children's Hospital in a serious condition.

The boy had been riding a scooter when he was struck.

"(The) child is suffering lower limb injuries and is in a serious but stable condition," a NSW Ambulance spokesperson said.

The incident occurred on the first day of school holidays in the state.
