Family's Plea For Teen Who Went Missing In Middle Of The Night
A girl who went missing, leaving her family "worried sick", has been found safe and well.
The Queensland family launched a desperate search for their 16-year-old daughter, who vanished in the middle of the night on Saturday.
On Tuesday, they got the good news they'd been hoping for.
"Dear community, after 3+ days of non-stop searching and worry over our daughter Xanthia’s safety, well being and whereabouts: POLICE HAVE LOCATED HER," her father wrote on Facebook.
"From what we’ve been told, she’s in good health. To say we’re relieved is an understatement! To everyone who was vigilant and helpful during this process— THANK YOU!"
QLD Police said the teen went missing from the suburb of Karalee, south of Brisbane, on Saturday morning.
On Tuesday morning they confirmed she had been found.
"The teenage girl reported missing from Ipswich on September 28 has been located safe and well. Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance," a statement read.
Thousands of people commented on or shared the family's plea for help, spreading the word through local Facebook neighbourhood groups.
