Pregnant Woman Dead After Falling From Moving Car, Man Arrested
A woman is dead and her baby who was born via an emergency C-section on Saturday is in a critical condition, after the woman fell from a moving car north-west of Melbourne.
Police said an incident between the woman and a man began at around 1pm when it's alleged the man threatened to assault the woman at a Kiwi Retreat home.
The pair then got into a car before the woman fell out of the vehicle and onto the road as it was driving around a corner, police said.
The woman, 32, was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital after suffering "life-threatening injuries".
When she arrived, the woman delivered a baby via c-section, before she died a short time later.
The baby was transferred to the Royal Women's Hospital next door where it remains in a critical condition.
A 35-year-old Keilor Downs man has been arrested by police and is currently assisting with their enquiries.
