Human Remains Found In NSW River Believed To Be Missing Student

A passer-by has made the grim discovery of human remains in a NSW river that could belong to missing university student Bigul Pandit.

Police found the remains in a section of the Murray River in West Albury about 4:40pm yesterday.

The find developed from reports that unidentified remains had been found near a boat ramp.

The remains have been sent for forensic examination.

NSW Police said it's believed the remains may belong to Pandit, a 21-year-old university student who went missing while swimming in the Murray River in January.

Inquiries are continuing.
