Man Crushed After Car Falls From Jack Stand
A Sydney man has been rescued after becoming trapped under a car that fell from its jack stand on Friday afternoon.
The man, 73, had been working beneath a 4WD vehicle at a property at Collaroy Plateau in Sydney's Northern Beaches when it fell and injured him.
Emergency services were called shortly before 5pm and CareFlight's rapid response helicopter also attended the scene.
Collaroy Oval had to be cleared of a number of children playing sport by the CareFlight crew who were circling above before it could land, CareFlight said in a statement.
Police then helped the crew reach the man, who was a short distance away from the Oval.
NSW Ambulance were already at the scene providing initial treatment before being joined by the CareFlight specialist doctor and critical care paramedic.
The man suffered multiple upper-body injuries and fractures from being crushed under the vehicle.
He was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
