Young Girl Crushed To Death By Tyre In Freak Accident
Tributes have flowed after a seven-year-old girl was tragically crushed by a tyre in western Queensland.
Lily Dorough was playing outside her father's tyre workshop at about 5.45pm on Tuesday in Roma about 450 kilomtres west of Brisbane, when a tyre fell on her.
Lily's father reportedly rushed her to hospital after the freak accident, but Lily died just hours later.
The girl's devastated mother broke her silence on her daughter's death, telling The Chronicle no family should ever have to endure such a terrible tragedy.
"She was just Lily -- the most beautiful, outgoing child. She was my little baby and she was very, very much loved,” she said.
Tributes for the seven-year-old have been shared on social media, with commenters sharing thoughts and condolences for Lily's family.
"Prayers [sic] are with U all god bless little one the angles are with U," one person wrote on Facebook.
"Fly high little one," another said.
Plans for a memorial service for Lily are unclear at this stage.
A report about the freak accident and Lily's death will be prepared for the Coroner.
