Man Shot Dead After Charging At Police With Samurai Sword
A siege had ended in tragedy with a 41-year-old man being shot dead in south-west Brisbane.
Queensland Police arrived at the Doolandella address after 5:30am on Monday to assist Queensland Ambulance, however, the situation turned into a siege.
Four children, aged under 10 and two women were also in the house with police managing to negotiate their release, however, at around 7:45am the man charged at police officers armed with a Samurai Sword.
A senior police constable fired multiple shots, fatally wounding the man.'
Inspector Tim Partridge told reporters that he was unsure if the children and women witnessed the shooting, though said they were in the vicinity at the time of the shooting.
The ethical standards command is investigating.
