Body Of Missing NSW Fisherman Found

The body of a missing fisherman who was swept off rocks has been found on the NSW Central Coast, police believe.

A man's body was found on rocks about 100 metres offshore near Wybung Head about 10.15am on Thursday, NSW Police said in a statement.

While the body is yet to be identified, police believe it is that of a 62-year-old man who fell from rocks and was sucked into a notoriously dangerous sea cave at Timber Beach, south of Caves Beach, on Sunday.

The search for the man - involving water police, divers, PolAir, marine rescue, surf life savers and the Westpac rescue helicopter - had been suspended on Tuesday afternoon.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
