Major Mazda Recall Over Fears The Wheels Could Fall Off
Models of Mazda, Dodge and Jeep vehicles have been recalled after a range of safety warnings were issued.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued several recalls over safety issues such as loose bolts, defective brakes and incorrectly-installed windshields.
One of the models recalled, the Mazda 3, has an issue from the manufacturing process meaning the wheels could fall off. There are 3,323 cars affected.
Mazda issued a statement that a "rattling noise occurs prior to a wheel detachment from the vehicle".

- Dodge Nitro 2007-2009, Jeep Cherokee 2008-2009
- Dodge Caliber 2007, Jeep Compass 2007
The ACCC said affected owners will be contacted directly by the manufacturers. Owners are also being encouraged to schedule appointments with their nearest deals for necessary repairs at no cost.
