10-Year-Old Boy Killed After Quad Bike Flips On Rural Property

A young boy has died after becoming trapped under a quad bike on the NSW south coast, police said.

Emergency services were called to a private property on Devitts Road at Meroo Meadow, about 15km north of Nowra, just after 11am on Monday.

Police were told a 10-year-old boy was driving an ATV with a 19-year-old passenger on board, when the vehicle lost control and flipped.

The young driver was trapped. He was freed by onlookers, but was unable to be saved.

"Witnesses were able to free the boy and treat him until the arrival of paramedics," NSW police said.

"However, he died at the scene."

The 19-year-old male passenger was treated for shock and taken to Shoalhaven District Hospital.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
