Woman And Child Found Dead At Cliff Lookout In 'Devastating' Scene
Two people have been found dead in an incident at a cliff lookout south of Sydney.
The bodies of a woman and young girl were discovered at the Robertson lookout at Wollongong's Mount Keira, south of Sydney.
The bodies were found in dense bushland below the lookout on Tuesday around 2pm, police said in a statement.
It is believed the girl is three years old, with the woman said to be in her early 30s.
"This is going to be absolutely devastating for the community," Superintendent Chris Craner told media.
"It's going to be devastating for the family, and my thoughts are also with the emergency services that have turned up here today."

Emergency services were called to the area after receiving reports of a concern for welfare.
"A woman and child were located deceased below the lookout. A crime scene has been established as officers from Wollongong Police District conduct inquiries," NSW Police said in a statement earlier on Tuesday.
Family of the deceased arrived at the scene later in the afternoon, appearing distressed.
A rescue helicopter has been working at the scene, hovering below the cliff edge.
Police are making their way down treacherous slopes to retrieve the bodies, but this is expected to take several hours. The bodies may have to be winched out by helicopter.
