Check-In Chaos: Virgin Australia Flights Delayed Across The Country

Virgin Australia customers are being warned to expect delays after an "IT outage" affected its check-in system at airports across the country.

The airline told customers on social media on Monday afternoon the outage is causing congestion at "a number" of check-in halls, with "some flights" being delayed.

"Our IT teams are currently working to resolve this issue," Virgin said in a tweet.

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused and will keep you updated as more information comes to hand."

Crews are on the ground at airports to help affected customers.

Images posted on social media show show lines of passengers at Brisbane Airport, with some reporting being stuck in baggage lines "for hours".

A short time later, Virgin Australia said the IT issue had been "resolved", but asked customers to check on the status of their flights.
