Blaze Engulfs Brisbane Boarding House, Firefighter Injured
A huge blaze broke out at a boarding house in South Brisbane.
A firefighter was been taken to hospital with a knee injury and a female patient in her 40s was assessed with shortness of breath.
However, the female patient did not require transportation to hospital.
Emergency crews were alerted to the Vulture St blaze just after 6am on Thursday morning.
The fire is believed to have engulfed a boarding house and a commercial property next door.
All residents at the boarding house have been evacuated and accounted for.
By 10am, Queensland Fire & Emergency had the fire "under control", but said its crews would be working on scene "for some time yet".
About 10 crews were battling the blaze, a QFE spokesperson told 10 daily.
Aerial footage shows smoke billowing out of the properties, which are entirely engulfed in flames.
No other properties have been affected.
"The fire continues to burn and multiple crews remain on scene," a statement from Queensland Ambulance Service shortly before 9am said.
It is still too early to determine the cause of the fire.
