'Forever In My Heart': Tributes For Young Dad Found Dead On Side Of Road
Family and friends have left tributes for a young father who was found dead on the side of a road north of Hobart.
The body of Jarrod Lee Turner, 22, was discovered on Sunday morning at Colebrook Road near Richmond, about 25 kilometres north of Hobart.
Detective Inspector Dough Rossiter confirmed the man's identity on Monday afternoon. His Facebook page said he was a single father of two young boys.
Police earlier confirmed Turner suffered a gunshot wound and are treating his death as suspicious.
Hundreds of people have left comments on Facebook, paying tribute to the young dad.
"Rest in peace, Jarrod Turner, you had such a big heart man. You and your family didn't deserve this at all, forever young," one person wrote.
"I'm stunned. And shocked. You still had so far to go and to have that taken from you," said another.
I can't imagine what your family is going through now. But your spirit will live on and I know you'll watch over everyone you cared for.
Others promised to care for Turner's children.
"You'll be forever in my heart, bro, I promise to protect your two boys till the day I die," one person said.
"Till we meet again, brother."
A forensic search of the scene near Colebrook Road and surrounding paddocks ended on Monday, with the section of the road re-opened to the public about 1pm.
A post mortem will be undertaken as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding Turner's death and how he came to be on that road.
Anyone with information about the man's death is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
