Tourist Injured After Falling 30 Metres Off Blue Mountains Cliff

A German tourist who fell 30 metres off a cliff in the Blue Mountains in the middle of the night has finally made his way to hospital more than 16 hours later.

The man is believed to have been looking for somewhere to relieve himself when he went over the edge of Perrys Lookdown, near Blackheath, about 1am on Friday, paramedics say.

People with whom the man had been camping raised the alarm about 10.30am before he was found by police unable to move about 2.15pm.

It took almost another five hours to move the camper, who has broken legs and suspected spinal injuries.

He was taken in a serious but stable condition to Royal North Shore hospital.
