Climate Strike: Some Of The Best Moments In Pictures

Thousands of Australian students have defied calls to stay at school and are demanding action on climate change. 

More than 50 rallies are underway across Australia, where students are urging the government to act to prevent the destruction of the planet.

The controversial protests were started by 16-year-old Swedish girl Greta Thunberg, who would skip school every Friday to sit outside the parliament building in Stockholm to push her government to adhere to its Paris Agreement commitments.

Greta's humble protest has grown into a global movement, with students all over the world following her work and skipping school in the name of climate action.
