Candid Dr Chris Brown Says His Life Has 'Not Been Without Sacrifice'
In a frank interview, Dr Chris Brown bares all about life in the spotlight -- including the relationship sacrifices he has made and the heartbreak of watching his mother's health deteriorate.
Brown, who is currently in South Africa co-hosting season five of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, spoke to Stellar magazine about his mother's battle with Alzheimer's.
He revealed that not seeing his mum for months at a time has made her changes more noticeable to him than ever.
“It’s a very hard thing to watch someone who means so much to you fade away before your eyes," he said in the exclusive interview.
“I’ve heard it referred to as the long goodbye, and it certainly is.
Because she's still here, but the mum I know isn't anymore."
The Newcastle-born veterinarian, who co-hosts I'm A Celebrity with comedian Julia Morris and is also a fan-favourite on Network 10's The Living Room, admitted he has prioritised his work over his personal life over the past decade.

"I love my life, but it’s not without sacrifice,” he told Stellar.
The 40-year-old who is single, and was recently the subject of several public campaigns to get him on the next season of The Bachelor, said he is still coming to terms with his relationship status.
"If you’d told me at 20 I’d be unmarried and without kids I probably would’ve been horrified," Brown said.
But he admitted that his busy schedule and the constant public speculation over who he is dating have put a strain on his previous relationships.
“It’s a lot to ask of a girlfriend, to put up with all the travel and the lack of face time," the 40-year-old said.
"I don’t want to put someone through that if it’s not going to be a thing."
But before hearts all over Australia break, Brown confirmed he hasn't given up hope and said he is definitely still looking for "the one".
Brown became a household name following the success of his popular show Bondi Vet, which began airing a decade ago, admitted helping animals is still what he is most passionate about.
“Animals don’t judge you on anything else but your kindness. You’re not beholden to ratings or opinions," he said.
Brown told Stellar he feels a strong sense of achievement when he is face-to-face with animals and their owners.
