Shocking New Footage Of Crash That Left Policeman Fighting For Life
Warning: The following footage may be distressing to some viewers.
Shocking new footage has emerged of the moment two cars collided head-on at Lucas Heights in Sydney's south, in a devastating crash which has left a NSW police officer fighting for life.
Probationary constable Timothy Proctor is currently listed as being in a critical condition at Liverpool Hospital following the accident late on Thursday.
The 29-year-old is recently married and has a baby on the way, and on Friday his loved ones and his wider police force family were by his hospital bedside.
Proctor only left the academy last year and had hoped to add shine to the reputation of the force.
A statement issued by the police association described the police family as "tight-knit".
"When one of our own is hurt, it hits officers right around the state, particularly close colleagues, very hard," the statement said.
The new footage which emerged late on Friday shows the moment the other car veers to the wrong side of the road and collides head-on with the officer's Honda Jazz.
The 65-year-old woman behind the wheel of the other car is also in a critical condition at Liverpool Hospital.
It's still unclear why her car veered to the other side of the road.
