Two People Found Hiding In Luggage Compartment Of Amy Shark's Tour Bus
Two people trying to cross the border from mainland Europe into the United Kingdom attempted to stow away on Amy Shark's tour bus, according to the singer.
The Australian singer tweeted that her team found the stowaways hiding in the luggage carrier.
"Scary. We just found two people hiding in our tour bus, in the luggage carrier, trying to sneak across the border into the UK," she said.
"No idea how they got in there or who they are of their plans."
She added that everyone was okay, but she was still shaken by the experience.
"The situation is scary. I feel for them, a very dangerous way to chase a new life. It's heartbreaking but the bus is also my home when I'm on the road and I didn't expect to find people hiding in it."
Amy Shark, whose song I Said Hi recently came in at number five on Triple J's Hottest 100, is currently touring her Love Monster album through Europe.
Tens of thousands of migrants attempt to enter the UK from mainland Europe each year, according to the French government.
More than 12,000 migrants attempted to stow away on lorries bound to the UK in 2017, the French interior ministry reported.
A growing number of people are crossing from France by boat, with an estimated 220 people arriving in a six-week period since November 2018.
