Driver Has Lucky Escape After Accidentally Flipping Car Into Back Of Tipper Truck
A man has had a lucky escape from a rather unusual car accident that landed his Holden Astra in the back of a tipper truck in Sydney's west.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Evelyn Street in Macquarie Fields about 3.30pm on Wednesday.
Police said the 38-year-old driver hit a trailer ramp, causing him to flip and land his car in the rear of the truck.
The man, who was the sole occupant on the vehicle, was trapped for a short time before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital with a shoulder injury.
Police shared a photo of the unusual car accident to Facebook.
"In other news... after an accident today, a car flipped and landed [in] the back of a truck at Macquarie Fields," they posted, including the hashtag #truestory.
Some users responded with disbelief, while others made light of the accident.
"No need for a tow truck!" said one person on Facebook.
"Really???" asked another.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
