Body Of Missing Carer Nischal Ghimire Found After Extensive Search

The body of missing man Nischal Ghimire was found in South Australia on Friday night after a desperate search to locate him.

Ghimire, 22, was reported missing when he failed to return from Glenelg beach on Thursday.

A 10-year-old boy, whom Ghimire cares for, was found lost and wandering alone just after midnight on Friday morning.

Due to a disability, the boy was unable to communicate to police what happened to Ghimire, but it is believed he took the child swimming before he disappeared.

An extensive sea, air and land search commenced on Friday morning, but tragically, he was found deceased at about 7.30pm on Friday night.

His body was found at the West Beach boat ramp, a short distance north from where police believe he went missing.

"Police would like to thank the volunteers and members of the public who assisted in the search," police said.

Ghimire, a Nepalese-born man, had been working as a carer for the young boy.

It is believed he took the boy swimming at the popular Glenelg beach on Thursday to escape the heat of the day, with temperatures soaring to 42 degrees.

His white Mitsubishi Colt was located parked nearby the beach.

Police do not suspect there are suspicious circumstances surrounding Ghimire's death. A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
