Toddler Drowns In Backyard Pool In Port Stephens

A toddler has drowned in a backyard pool in Port Stephens, north of Sydney.

The 19-month-old boy was found unconscious at a home on Marsh Road in Bobs Farm about 6.40pm on Sunday.

Police believe family members were in the yard when he fell into the fenced pool unnoticed, a NSW Police spokeswoman told 10 daily.

Paramedics arrived and performed CPR but he could not be revived.

Initial investigations suggest his death was not suspicious, according to police.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
