Multi-Vehicle Crash Leaves One Person Trapped, Four In Hospital
Traffic is backed up for four kilometres and buses are delayed up to an hour, after a multi-vehicle collision in Sydney's north-west.
A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after a multi-vehicle smash at Ryde, involving a car, truck and bus.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance confirmed to 10 daily that the woman was trapped inside her vehicle but has since been freed and rushed to Royal North Shore hospital in a serious condition.
Six other people were assessed at the scene, three of whom were taken to nearby Concord Hospital for minor injuries.
They are in a stable condition, the spokesperson said.
All southbound lanes on Church Street at Ryde remain closed and traffic is being diverted following the crash on Junction Street.
The Transport Management Centre said drivers are facing queues of up to four kilometres and motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
Buses are delayed by up to an hour.
Route 458 buses are only operating between Burwood and Rhodes, missing five stops and are delayed up to 40 minutes, TMC said.
Route M41 buses are diverting and missing two stops and are delayed up to 60 minutes.
Images uploaded by NSW police show a truck and bus significantly damaged following the collision.
A small car is also seen completely destroyed, with its airbag deployed.
Another image shows the public bus has taken down a traffic light next to the lane.
Police are investigating the incident.
