Jarryd Hayne Charged With Aggravated Sexual Assault
Beleaguered NRL star Jarryd Hayne has been charged in relation to the sexual assault of a young woman on Grand Final night.
Hayne arrived at Ryde police station at 4.05 PM on Monday afternoon, after a request from detectives from the NSW Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad.
10 News First understands he declined to answer any questions nor give his version of events.
He was later charged with aggravated sexual assault and inflicting "actual bodily harm on victim".
The woman alleges she sustained an injury during the non-consensual encounter in the NSW Hunter Valley region on September 30.
The pair had earlier had contact on social media.
The woman initially made a complaint to the NRL Integrity Unit, which passed the matter into NSW Police.
Detectives interviewed the woman last week.
